Original owners of Eden House

I found this old photo on Ebay. I purchased this property in 1987. At the time it looked exactly like this .Since then I have remodeled the porch,to add some more square footage .
In the past years it has been home to several stores, the first being "The Country Goose" home furnishings retail store I started in 1983."The Goose occupied the space for more than 10 years.
"The Dish Ran Away The Spoon" was in the space for a year.
During some renovation the carpet was pulled and to my surprise under the carpet was beautiful old growth VG fir in pristine condition.
For two years 'The Beach House" occupied the house. A beautiful store with beach related gifts and home furnishings. The landscape was changed to reflect a "beachy feel" with flag stone and grasses. A new fence was installed, An outdoor gas fireplace and fire pit also added to the ambiance.
This house is located on the main street through Anacortes. The first San Juan Island. There is only a hand full of the old houses remaining on Commercial Ave. I think the Eden's would be proud the house is still there. Standing, growing old gracefully.
